Carolyn Burnett
Carolyn Burnett is the owner of Open Door Catering, LLC, which has been in business since 2001. Her passion for serving others has afforded her much success in her business. Her services include catering weddings, birthday parties, church functions and corporate events. Carolyn has catered major events, including Super Bowl XLV in 2011, where she served over 3000 guests at the Dallas Cowboys AT&T Stadium. Carolyn also enjoys giving back to the community by providing the elderly and disabled with free home-cooked meals. She also provides cooking classes for individuals 15 and up where she teaches basic cooking techniques. Her goal is to provide service that brings joy to others.
LaWana Spartling
LaWana Spratling is a financial coach who specializes in helping families and individuals achieve their financial goal of being on F.I.R.E. (Financially Independent to Retiring Early). With over 11 years of experience, LaWana sits across the kitchen table with families offering solutions for them to get out of debt, protect their income, and having a nice nest egg for the later years. Before becoming a financial coach, she worked in higher education. Today, LaWana works alongside her husband and daughter educating families on the importance of financial freedom.
Shaylon Scott
Shaylon Scott is a born and bred Texan from the piney woods of East Texas. She has dedicated over 10 years working in the nonprofit and government sectors. Her love for helping those in need within the non-profit sector has led to various leadership roles in the community. She has worked in local government managing programs and developments from HUD, Rural Development and TDHCA. She has also worked for a nonprofit that administered education programs to students in Austin on Child Support and Paternity Law, facilitated trainings on leadership for the Dallas Youth Commission, and has served as the Community Engagement Manger for Volunteer Now one of the largest volunteer centers in the country. She holds a Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice from Wiley College with a background in Public Relations and Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington. Shaylon currently serves as Program Outreach Coordinator for On the Road Lending, a nonprofit that provides transportation and credit education to those in need. In 2016, Shaylon was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Administrator of the Year award by the National Association of Volunteer Programs in Local Government. She currently lives in Frisco with her two daughters, ages 11 and 12.
Edora Butler
Edora is a 25-year Fidelity veteran and an 18 year Compliance professional. She currently supports the Compliance organization as a project manager that ensures enterprise wide compliance initiatives are planned and executed well as the impact could reach up to 49,000 employees. While supporting the Compliance organization, Edora’s expertise in helping the company to maintain regulatory compliance by ensuring adequate controls are in place to mitigate risk is her key strength.
Edora received her undergraduate in Leadership Development from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh and Masters of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University. She is passionate about serving communities and is kicking off a non-profit start-up this year, Cups, Jars, and Vessels. In addition, Edora serves and supports several non-profit organizations.
